Incident: Saturday 5th September 2026 (Evening)

The team was called following a request from Derbyshire Police to assist with the search for a vulnerable missing person.

Information available to police had identified an area around Elvaston requiring further searching before darkness. Mountain rescue personnel, search dogs and the team's drone section were deployed to search areas of open and rough ground.

The search continued into the evening, with teams completing their allocated areas before returning to the rendezvous.

Following discussions with Derbyshire Police, the mountain rescue search was stood down later that evening pending a review of the available information.

The following morning, the team was informed that the missing person had presented themselves at a police station and was safe and well.
