The team was called following reports of a man in his 80s who had collapsed while walking in Dovedale with his partner.
Mountain rescue personnel attended alongside Staffordshire Police, Derbyshire Police, East Midlands Ambulance Service, West Midlands Ambulance Service, Midlands Air Ambulance and the National Trust.
CPR was carried out at the scene, but despite the efforts of everyone involved, sadly the man could not be resuscitated.
Team members subsequently carried the man by stretcher to a waiting ambulance.
Our thoughts are with his partner, family and friends at this difficult time.
