Incident: Wednesday 14th October 2026 (Afternoon)

The team was called following a request from Staffordshire Police to assist a walker who had fallen while crossing the stepping stones in Dovedale.

The casualty had sustained a painful knee injury and was unable to continue, remaining on one of the stepping stones while awaiting assistance.

Team members provided casualty care at the scene, including pain relief, immobilisation of the injured leg and protection from the cold.

The casualty was then secured onto our specialist mountain rescue stretcher and carried to Dovedale car park, where they were transferred for onward transport to hospital in Stoke.
