2026-75: Thor's Cave – Walker on steep ground

Derby Mountain Rescue Team was called to assist a walker who had become stuck on steep ground near Thor's Cave.

Incident: Wednesday 12th August 2026 (Afternoon)

The team was called following reports of a female walker who had become stuck on steep ground near Thor's Cave.

As the first team members arrived, contact was made with the casualty and it was established that she had been able to make her way to safety with the assistance of some passers-by.

The remainder of the team was stood down while those already on scene continued to check on her welfare.

The walker made her way back to Wetton with friends, where she was assessed by West Midlands Ambulance Service as a precaution.
