The team was called to assist East Midlands Ambulance Service following reports of a 46-year-old female who had sustained an ankle injury whilst walking near Reynard's Cave in Dovedale, leaving her unable to continue.
Due to the location and ongoing pressures on ambulance resources, Derby Mountain Rescue Team provided casualty care and evacuation. The casualty was assessed and treated on scene, receiving pain relief before being immobilised for transport.
The casualty was then carried by team stretcher to a team vehicle before being transported to a rendezvous point with East Midlands Ambulance Service. She was subsequently transferred to a waiting ambulance for onward transport to the Royal Derby Hospital.
The team stood down later that evening.
