The team was called by East Midlands Ambulance Service to assist a 55-year-old male mountain biker who had fallen whilst riding on trails in woodland near Cromford Moor.
Due to the nature of the incident, concerns were raised about possible head and back injuries. The casualty was assessed and treated on scene by an EMICS doctor and Derby Mountain Rescue Team members before being immobilised in a vacuum mattress.
The casualty was then evacuated by stretcher to a waiting ambulance in the Black Rocks car park and transported to Chesterfield Royal Hospital for further assessment and treatment.
