75 year old man rescued after fall at popular beauty spot

The team were called out to Thorpe Cloud at 11:30am on Wednesday 23rd June. A 73 year old male had been out walking with his wife when he slipped sustaining an injury to his left knee. He was assessed and treated on scene by the team for a dislocated knee and suspected fracture to his lower leg, his leg was splintered and he was given pain relief. An East Midlands Ambulance Service land ambulance was requested and the team evacuated the male by stretcher to the road head to await collection. Hew was taken by road to the Royal Derby Hospital for further treatment.
