We’re delighted to share some fantastic news—team member Ady and his search dog Bryn have just achieved Operational Grade with Mountain Rescue Search Dogs England (MRSDE)!
This major milestone follows a demanding two-day assessment in the Brecon Beacons, where the pair demonstrated their ability to work effectively across steep, technical terrain. One particularly challenging area—known as the Whaleback—put their skills to the test, but they rose to the occasion with some impressive scores.
The road to qualification is long and demanding, requiring countless hours of training in all weathers. It also wouldn’t be possible without the invaluable help of the volunteer dog bodies who give up their time to hide in remote places, often for hours at a time, to help train these specialist search dogs. A huge thank you goes out to them, and to everyone who’s supported Ady and Bryn along the way.
With their new operational status, Ady and Bryn are now ready to be deployed on live searches. Their addition significantly enhances the team’s ability to locate missing and vulnerable people more quickly and effectively.
Congratulations to both Ady and Bryn—your hard work, determination, and teamwork have truly paid off. We’re incredibly proud to have you on the team!
