Derby Mountain Rescue Team currently rent a garage that is far from ideal, it is prone to flooding and has a six-month eviction clause. It does not have any training or meeting facilities.
We have purchased some land on the A52 near Mackworth village that gives us good access to routes leading to our prime operating area. We have obtained planning permission to build a new base that will provide us with garage, storage, kitchen, toilet, shower and training facilities. The new base will cost in the region of £550K to build. To date we have raised £226K and require another £324K to complete the project.
We will soon be posting blog updates, photos and news; detailing the project as we move forward
