> Incident: Saturday 18th July 2026 (Afternoon)
The man had become separated from his group while visiting Thor's Cave. Given the steep terrain surrounding the cave and uncertainty over his whereabouts, Derbyshire Police requested assistance from Derby Mountain Rescue Team.
A search response was launched, with team members, drone pilots and a search dog deployed to search the surrounding area alongside Staffordshire Police.
Shortly after the search started, the missing man showed up safe and well where the team vehicles were located, bringing the incident to a successful conclusion. The team was subsequently stood down.
