Reflecting on Our Busiest Year Yet

As 2025 draws to a close and we approach the festive season, we’ve taken a moment to reflect on what has been an exceptionally busy year for Derby Mountain Rescue Team. With just days remaining in the year, we've already responded to 97 callouts – the highest number in our 60+ year history. It’s a significant milestone, and one that demonstrates the ever-growing demand for our voluntary search and rescue services.

From injured walkers in the Peaks to searches in urban fringes, each callout represents someone in need and a dedicated team ready to respond — day or night, whatever the weather. Behind every rescue is a team of highly trained volunteers giving up their time, supported by a network of people who help keep us operational.

We couldn’t do this without the generosity of our supporters. As we look towards 2026, we’re asking you to consider becoming a Friend of Derby MRT.
