TRAINING: Callouts might be the most visible part of mountain rescue, but plenty continues in the background.

Over recent weeks, team members have been practising steep ground lowers and maintaining our water rescue skills, including putting our new boat engine through its paces.

We've also held one of our regular team meetings, where we had the opportunity to recognise some of our members with long service awards – celebrating the many years they've given to Derby Mountain Rescue Team.

Training, maintaining equipment, meetings and a lot more besides all continue between callouts, helping keep the team ready when we're needed.

Have we helped you?
