Queen's Platinum Jubilee Medals

Derby Volunteers awarded Queen's Platinum Jubilee Medal

Posted by on

To mark The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, a special commemorative medal will be awarded to serving frontline members of the police, fire, emergency services, prison services and the Armed Forces. Acting as a token of the nation’s thanks, the Platinum Jubilee Medal follows a long history of awarding medals to mark Royal Jubilee’s, with the first one awarded to mark the 50th anniversary of Queen Victoria’s reign in 1887. The medals are awarded to both paid and volunteer emergency service personnel with 5 years of service.

A total of 49 of our team members are to receive this medal at an award ceremony on Friday July 1st in Derby, with the medals to be presented by Chief Constable Rachel Swann.

A number of the team also received the Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2012 and the Golden Jubilee Medal in 2002.
