MRathon 2020 - Sarah Garner

MRathon Day 1

Even in the midst of a pandemic. kit still needs checking and sorted so today's walk is to the team garage and back, and just in case of a call out my battered old rucksack will be coming with me. I will update with the blister count later...

MRathon Day 2

Feeling yesterday's walk a bit so I needed a target for today. Yesterday was the team garage so today I went out to the site of our new base. Today it's a beautifully lush field; soon we hope it will be the base and training space we desperately need.

On the way back I thought I'd check out some of Derby's green spaces including Marketon Brook once the industrial heart of the city now a peaceful stream which you wouldn't know was there unless your hobby involves checking out weirs...

MRathon Day 3

Much as I wanted a lie in today I dragged myself out to try and the miles done early because its a beautiful day and that generally means a call out to Dovedale later.
Which is why along with some many others I am doing this challenge. Covid-19 has put a stop to our normal fundraising activities and brought additional costs to rescue its impossible to social distance with a stretcher so we wear PPE to try and keep our casualties, our selves and our friends and family as safe as possible in this new normal we are living.
Thank you all for your support and good wishes over the last few days. Its been brilliant to be part of the MRSDE MRathon team and to be able to make a difference from all across the country.
