📰 2026-58: Cromford – Injured walker
The team was called to assist East Midlands Ambulance Service following reports of a 73-year-old man who had fallen on a footpath near Cromford, sustaining a suspected fractured femur.
The casualty was treated on scene by EMAS and Derby Mountain Rescue Team before being carried by team stretcher to a waiting ambulance for onward transport to hospital.
📰 2026-59: Cratcliff – Injured boulderer
Whilst the team was treating the casualty at Cromford, a second request for assistance was received from the PDMRO Duty Controller. The incident involved a 35-year-old woman who had injured her ankle whilst bouldering at Cratcliff Tor, near Birchover.
Buxton Mountain Rescue Team was initially tasked while Derby Mountain Rescue Team completed the Cromford incident. Once the first casualty had been handed over to EMAS, Derby Mountain Rescue Team was redeployed towards Cratcliff.
Before either team arrived, the casualty had made her own way back to her vehicle and mountain rescue assistance was no longer required. Both teams were stood down.
📰 2026-60: Dovedale – Medical emergency
Later that evening, the team was requested to assist West Midlands Ambulance Service following an initial report of a person in cardiac arrest near the Dovedale Stepping Stones.
Whilst the team was preparing to respond, ambulance crews had located the casualty near the main road. The casualty was able to walk to the waiting ambulance and Derby Mountain Rescue Team was stood down before deployment.
