The team was called at 1pm on Monday 27th April, 2026 by East Midlands Ambulance Service to assist a 71-year-old female who had fallen from a horse at Poulter Country Park, near the villages of Whaley Thorns and Langwith.
Team members deployed to support ambulance crews, confirming the casualty’s location and assisting with access.
On assessment, the casualty had sustained injuries consistent with a fall from a horse, including suspected rib and back injuries, and was treated on scene by ambulance crews with support from team members.
The casualty was immobilised in a vacuum mattress, loaded onto a stretcher, and carried to a suitable access point before being transferred to a waiting ambulance.
She was then taken to hospital for further treatment.
