The team was called following reports from members of the public who believed they had seen a paraglider crash in the vicinity of Crich Lane, Belper.
Derbyshire Police carried out an initial search of the area on foot and with NPAS (National Police Air Service), with no findings, and subsequently requested Mountain Rescue assistance.
Team members deployed to search the identified area, with additional search dog resources placed on standby.
During the search, Derbyshire Police issued a media appeal for information. A short time later, a member of the public came forward identifying themselves as the pilot and confirming they were safe and well.
All resources were then stood down.
