The team was called to assist a walker near Ilam, close to Dovedale. The casualty, a female, had fallen while walking and reported hearing a “crack” from her ankle, leaving her unable to continue. She had previously attended a team event where she learned how to call out mountain rescue in such situations.

Team members assessed and treated the casualty on scene before carrying her by stretcher to an evacuation point.

The casualty was handed over to West Midlands Ambulance Service for onward transport to hospital.
