Team members were called out to assist the ambulance service following a request for support due to difficult access conditions during winter weather.
A patient required transport to Chesterfield Hospital, however the attending road ambulance was unable to safely access the property due to snow and ice. With vehicle access restricted, additional assistance was needed to move the casualty from the house to the waiting ambulance.
Mountain Rescue volunteers attended the scene and carried out a stretcher carry along the lane, ensuring the casualty was transferred safely and smoothly to the ambulance crew. Once the handover was complete, the patient was transported to hospital for further investigations.
This callout highlights the importance of close cooperation between the emergency services, particularly during periods of adverse weather when access can be challenging.
