A routine training exercise was cut short when the team was called to assist a 64-year-old walker with an ankle injury near Coldeaton Bridge. After assessment, the casualty was able to make their own way off site with the help of a companion.
Later in the afternoon, the team was called to Rowtor Rocks, where a 52-year-old man had been injured on a ledge. Working alongside ambulance and air ambulance crews, a stretcher evacuation was carried out to bring the casualty safely down to the roadside.
Almost immediately afterwards, Derbyshire Constabulary requested support in the search for a missing 10-year-old girl at Carsington Water. A vehicle and drone team were deployed, but before long the child was found safe and well and the team was stood down.
