Derby Mountain Rescue Team were called out by the Duty Controller just after 2pm on Sunday 30th June 2024.

A Thirty-Six-year-old female had slipped while descending Thorpe Cloud and injured her ankle, was unable to walk and was suffering from nausea. She was treated on scene by the team, an MR Doctor noted a potential mid femur injury. Due to the severity of that injury, especially in a pre-hospital environment, the team requested the assistance of Derbyshire Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance (Helimed54 G-DLRA) ensuring the fastest possible transfer to hospital. The lady was taken to the Royal Derby Hospital for further treatment.
