Six Callouts in Five Days for the Team

It's been a busy few days for the team. Alongside running the Cromford Mills Abseil and preparing for this weekend's inaugural Matlock Skyline challenge - we have also had six callouts.

Saturday 22nd - Callout 1: Dovedale

Just before 5pm the duty controller received a report of a walker with a broken leg near Lover's Leap and mobilised the team.
As the team arrived on scene, team members located the casualty who had been helped back to the main car park and was being transported to hospital in a family car.
The team were stood down.

Saturday 22nd - Callout 2: Stanton Lees

Just after 8pm the team were called out to a female in her 70s who had fallen in a horse field near Stanton Lees, injuring her back. She was treated on scene by the team and carried in our vacuum mattress to the road where she was handed over to East Midlands Ambulance Service.
The team were stood down.

Sunday 23rd - Callout 3: Dovedale

Around 9am on Sunday morning the team were called to Dovedale after a sixteen-year-old male had been reported to have fallen 10ft.
The male had suffered a significant ankle injury. He was treated on scene by the team and a helimed was requested.
The casualty was taken by road to the Royal Derby Hospital along with the Helimed's medical crew.
The team were stood down.

Sunday 23rd - Callout 4: Swinscoe

Just after 8pm on Sunday the team were notified of a missing person near Swinscoe who hadn't returned after going for a walk.
A search plan was formulated and a search of the area was started. We were also joined by the National Police Air Service helicopter.
Later in the evening, he phoned to say he had returned home by bus and taxi.
The team were stood down.

Tuesday 25th - Callout 5: Thorpe Cloud

Just after 8pm on Tuesday the team were called to reports of someone falling/tumbling around 40 metres on the scree slope side of Thorpe Cloud and had initially been unconscious.
The casualty's friends had carried him across the stepping stones and helped him walk back to the car park.
They were intercepted by team members who cleaned and dressed a number of lacerations which were bleeding.
The team were joined by EMAS and Helimed Paramedics. The male was transported to a Land Ambulance and taken to the Royal Derby Hospital for further treatment.
The team were stood down.

Wednesday 26th - Callout 6: Ashbourne

The team were called out just before noon on Wednesday to reports of a missing person near Ashbourne.
As the team started to search likely areas, more information was received and the missing person was located by the team in Bradley Woods.
They were treated on scene by the team and transported to hospital for further treatment by East Midlands Ambulance Service.
The team were stood down.
