Derby Mountain Rescue Team were called out to Dovedale just after 5pm on Saturday 18th May 2024 to reports of a casualty near Dovedale Stepping Stones.
The team arrived on scene, located the informant and then the casualty who was a short way up the path on Thorpe Cloud.
The casualty, a forty-two-year-old female, was treated on scene by the team for an isolated left ankle injury. She was given pain relief and her leg splinted.
Although only a short distance, due to the steep and uneven path the lady was lowered by team stretcher to the main path and carried across the river. She was handed over to the care of an East Midlands Ambulance Service Ambulance and taken to hospital for further treatment.
