Wednesday 10th May 2pm. The team were called out to reports of a fallen walker at Pilsbury Castle. Due to the location and time of day we requested Buxton Mountain Rescue Team to assist. A local Derby MRT member was first on scene and found two men had been out walking in the area and had stopped for lunch when one of the men (79-years-old) fell from a ledge tumbling around 8-10ft. Along with some bruising, the male had suffered several lacerations to his scalp which were still bleeding. His wounds were dressed and bandaged on scene and he was escorted to the team vehicle and driven back to the RV where he was checked over by two team DRs in the comfort of BMRT's van. The male was handed over to the care of the ambulance service and taken to Stepping Hill hospital for further assessment. We have since heard back that he was discharged later that evening.
