The team were called out by Officialwmas yesterday (Monday 16th August) just after 1pm. An 83-year old man had been out litter picking at Thor's Cave as he had done for the previous three decades. Unfortunately on this occasion he slipped and fell at the mouth of the cave, sustaining supected fractures to his ribs. He was initially treated by passers-by including a Dr, then subsequently by Wetton and Alstonefield Community First Responders - WACFR , the team and the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity crew. Although he was able to walk it was decided safest to carry him out in our vacuum mattress and stretcher. He was flown to the Royal Stoke Hospital for further treatment.
