DejaVu as Mountain Rescue Team called to two almost identical incidents within 36 hours

CALLOUT / DEJAVU

Not only is the team made up entirely of volunteers, highly trained in Search and Rescue and Prehospital Emergency Medicine, but they're also all always on call. All team members are called to all incidents (although they may not always be able to attend).  We don't know when, where or what our next callout will be. We definitely have some hotspots and some less visited locations.

So having been called on Tuesday to a path between Youlgreave and Middleton, an infrequently visited location, I don't think anyone was expecting to be called back to almost the exact same location within 36 hours!

The team were called out before 9am this morning (Thursday 22nd July) to assist East Midlands Ambulance Service with a fallen walker. The 40-year-old female had fallen down a steep slope, coming to rest at the foot of a tree. She was treated on scene by the EMAS crew. Just after the team arrived we were joined by the crew of #Helimed54 Your Local Air Ambulance WNDLR. The #Helimed crew agreed to fly the casualty to hospital for further treatment. She was placed in our vacuum mattress and carried down the river bed and to the waiting helicopter.
