The team were called out just after 1:30pm today to assist Officialwmas with an injured walker.
A 40-year-old lady had been to visit Thor's Cave with her husband and son. Whilst descending the path from the cave she slipped and heard a cracking noise from her left ankle. She was treated on scene by Midlands Air Ambulance Charity critical care team and West Midlands Ambulance Service. She was transported back down the main track by the team using our Mountain Rescue stretcher, and taken by land to the Royal Derby Hospital for further treatment.
The team vehicles were returned to base, kit decontaminated and made ready for our next job.
