The team were called out at 3pm on Tuesday 29 September. A 72-year-old male was out walking alone when he fell down a steep hillside on farmland near Swinscoe, Ashbourne. Having sustained a shoulder injury and without any phone signal, the man pulled himself back up the hill along a fence line with his uninjured arm and was then able to call for help. He was treated on scene by a West Midlands Ambulance Paramedic, and driven in the team's Ranger back to the road-head and transferred to a waiting land ambulance.
