2020-30: Lea Hall

Derby Mountain Rescue Team called to a fallen cyclist

Posted by on

Our 30th callout this year was just before 3pm today. The team were called out to a cyclist who had collided with a tree. The 34-year-old male from London had hired a bike nearby, lost control on the road down to the ford near Tissington/Lea Hall and left the road ending up in the trees on the river bank.

He was attended by an Ashbourne Community First Responder, East Midlands Ambulance Service Paramedic and St John's Ambulance crew. The team carried him back to the road on our stretcher. An EMAS crew took him to the Royal Derby Hospital for further treatment.

Another great example of inter-agency co-operation, working together to help save lives and alleviate distress.
