Another multi-agency effort on the afternoon of 30th May as the team was called to Thor's Cave just before 3pm this afternoon. A couple had taken a route out of Thor's Cave that led them down a steep scree slope where they became cragfast. The lady, who is believed to be 20 weeks pregnant, and her partner were both taken to the bottom of the scree by Derbyshire Cave Rescue Organisation and Derby Mountain Rescue Team, with a 'rope handrail' for safety.
Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, Staffordshire Fire and Rescue and a Hazardous area response team were also on scene. This was our seventh callout in a week, two of which have been to Thor's Cave. Vehicles and kit all back to the garage to be checked and re-packed and team back home for a well-earned rest.
