Another milestone at the new Derby Mountain Rescue Team base at Mackworth: the building is now connected to mains utilities.
The water supply was connected in September, followed at the beginning of October by a three-phase power supply and the electricity meter.
It doesn't change much from the outside, but it's an important step. With water and power on, the electrical and mechanical works can now be completed — the systems that will run the control room, vehicle bays, workshop and training spaces.
Outside, landscaping work has also started around the site, and the base is beginning to look less like a building site and more like the team's new home.
Thank you to everyone supporting the project. We'll keep sharing updates as the base comes together.
