Work on the new Derby Mountain Rescue Team base at Mackworth continues to move forward, with Morecrofts Electrical now nearing completion of the first fix electrical installation.

This marks an important stage in the build, laying the foundations for the systems that will support the team’s day-to-day operations. The infrastructure being installed will power everything from communications and control room systems to vehicle charging, workshop facilities, and training areas.

The new base is being designed to improve how we prepare for and respond to incidents — ensuring vehicles, equipment and communications are always ready for rapid deployment, while also providing dedicated space for training and team activities.

It’s great to see another major phase of the project nearing completion, and we’re pleased to have Morecrofts Electrical supporting the build as it progresses.

We’ll continue to share updates as the base takes shape — thank you to everyone supporting the project and helping make this possible.

Help Build the Future of Derby Mountain Rescue

The new MacBase will support the team’s communications, training, vehicle readiness, and operational planning for years to come.

Derby Mountain Rescue Team is a volunteer charity, and projects like this are only possible thanks to the support of the public and local organisations. If you'd like to help us continue building a base that keeps the team ready to respond, please consider making a donation.
