When someone needs help in our operational area of the Peak District, we respond. Our volunteers are trained to operate in remote, often difficult conditions—supporting the emergency services, locating missing people, and helping those injured in the outdoors.

Now, we’re inviting local tradespeople to support the team in a different but equally vital way: by helping us build our new base that will enable us to continue our work for decades to come.

Building the Future of Mountain Rescue

We’re developing a purpose-built base that will be the operational centre of Derby Mountain Rescue Team. This facility is more than just a building — it’s an essential upgrade to ensure we can respond faster, train better, and serve our community more effectively.

The new base will:

  • Provide fit-for-purpose training space for volunteers
  • Store critical equipment securely and accessibly
  • Serve as a hub for community engagement and mountain safety education
  • Support the welfare of our volunteers

Skilled Trades Wanted

We’re looking to work with local professionals who understand the value of high standards and community impact. Your expertise can help shape a facility that directly contributes to saving lives.

We’re particularly seeking:

  • Painters & Decorators – To deliver high-quality finishes throughout the facility, ensuring a clean and professional environment
  • Carpenters – To construct durable and functional fittings and internal structures suited to operational use
  • Landscape Gardeners – To design and complete external areas for accessibility, durability, and long-term maintenance
  • Audio Visual Installers – To fit communication systems that support team coordination and training activities
  • Security System Providers – To install reliable systems that protect critical equipment and ensure site safety
  • Specialist Commercial Cleaners – With experience in preparing and maintaining concrete flooring and high-use operational spaces

Why Get Involved?

This isn’t just another project. It’s a chance to contribute to something that supports our region in times of crisis. The work you do here will support real callouts, protect real lives, and leave a lasting mark on the community.

We’re looking for partners who can offer:

  • High-quality workmanship
  • Appropriate trade insurance and credentials
  • Flexible availability during the 2025/2026 build period
