The Bearded Bimbler

We caught up with The Bearded Bimbler, as he set out on his run across the Peak District

Posted by on

It was a cold and early start for a few of our team members this morning, but we only had to drive to #Tissington to meet The Bearded Bimbler (AKA Mike Creighton). Mike was starting his first day of running the Peak District as part of his #ProjectParkrun2019. He is running all of the National Parks in the UK in aid of The Peak District Mountain Rescue Organisation (PDMRO) and Edward's Trust.

We caught up with him as he ran through Tissington this morning. Fortunately, the forecast rain held off (for the morning at least), and Mike looked in good form as we left him heading off up the Limestone Way as he makes his way to Edale for the night.

Mike Says:

"I’m no athlete, I’m a 30 something guy with a little podge who works full time and has a family. #projectparkrun2019 came about from a desire to explore more of the UK through the simplest means MY FEET. During the course of 2019 I will be running across every national park in the UK, crossing every conceivable terrain the UK has to offer and more than likely every type of weather available, I'll be self-supported but hopefully some of you kind folk will want to join me, meet me and more importantly feed me along the way."

We wish him well for the rest of his travels and thank him for his efforts. It's a pretty epic challenge to set for yourself, and I know he'd appreciate your support.
