The team were called out twice yesterday evening (Tuesday 5th July). The first callout was to a high risk vulnerable missing person in Shining Cliff woods.
The team were deployed a liaised with the Police on scene, as the control vehicle was arriving the missing person had made contact and was confirmed to be safe and well. The team were stood down at 7:25pm. Just 20 minutes later the team were called out to assist West Midlands Ambulance Service with an 'injured walker'.
On arrival on scene the team met with a Community First Responder who provided an update that the walker was in fact a fisherman. The casualty had a suspected broken ankle, which had been sustained in the river and they had attempted to crawl back to the road. The man was treated on scene by the team, given pain relief and had his ankle splinted. He was transferred to a WMAS land ambulance and transported to the Royal Stoke University Hospital for further treatment
