Dog and owner rescued at Thor's Cave.

Derby Mountain Rescue Team were called out just after 1pm on Thursday 26th May to Thor's Cave. Two women had been out walking with their dog on the Manifold Way attempting to reach Thor's Cave. Finding themselves on very steep ground, one of the ladies and the dog slipped down the path around 10 metres becoming cragfast (unable to move up or down) in a precarious position. The second lady managed to make her way back to the top of the route and called for help.

On arrival the team set up a rope system to provide safe access (via the west window of Thor's cave) and guided the woman and her dog up into the cave and out the main entrance to safety.

This is a placeholder post for a recent callout. We're currently gathering all the details and will update this blog post soon. Check back later for the full story!
