Fallen Climber at Willersley Crag, Cromford

Posted by on

The team were called out yesterday evening (Wednesday 23rd March) to a fallen climber in Cromford. A couple in their twenties had been out climbing at Cromford when the male (26) fell an estimated 5 metres to the ground. He was treated on scene by the team, due to the nature of his injuries/mechanism of injury he was packaged in our specialist vacuum mattress to protect his spine, carried out by the team on our stretcher and transferred to an East Midlands Ambulance Service land ambulance crew. The male was taken to QMC in Nottingham for further assessment and treatment. This evening some our team have been taking part in a regular Casualty Care Course, where unsurprisingly this was one of our scenarios.
