2020-22: Black Rocks

22-year-old walker with ankle injury

Posted by on

The team were called to #BlackRocks #Cromford just before 10pm on Friday 5th June. A group had been out exploring Black Rocks, on their way back down from the crag top one of the party slipped, catching their foot between some rocks - breaking their ankle. The 22-year-old female was carried a short distance by her friends before they decided, with the failing light, to call 999.

She was treated for the fractured ankle on the scene by the East Midlands Ambulance Service Hazardous Area Response Team (HART). Following our COVID19 protocols, the team loaded her onto our Bell rescue stretcher and wheel and evacuated her off the hill back to the road-head.

Team vehicle and kit were returned to the Garage and sanitised ready for the next callout, with team members returning home in the early hours of Saturday morning. #Volunteers #VolunteersWeek #VolunteersWeek2020 #PHEM #HART #EMAS #MountainRescue #PDMRO #MREW #OnCall #Callout
