Flood Update: The team were called out again on November 9th evening to assist Derbyshire Constabulary with the ongoing flooding event in and around Derby. A section of water trained personnel were dispatched to Ambaston to assist with evacuating residents and providing safety cover for our colleagues in other emergency services.
Unfortunately, this meant [the section] leaving the team's annual dinner which was just starting in Mickleover. A massive thanks to the partners and guests who were left behind at the event or at home enabling us to support our community. Not to mention the staff at Mickleover Golf Club who were very accommodating to our ever-changing requirements, including providing an area for us to run our control operations from.
We remained on standby overnight as we reached peak water levels. The team is now stood down.
