Why we need you?

Derby Mountain Rescue Team, like all mountain rescue teams, is a voluntary organisation financed entirely by public donations. We need your support in order to continue to provide the high quality emergency service required.

Our services are free and all our team members are unpaid volunteers, but the team has significant running costs to be met in order to obtain and maintain the necessary equipment and vehicles and to provide the necessary training to ensure that all members of the team, both trainees and operational members, are fully capable of carrying out their roles.

Buy through the team website

You can access a vast range of online shops through our website, including major online retailers such as Amazon, Tesco, John Lews, Sky, HMV, ASDA, BT and hundreds more.Each purchase made through these links will not cost you a penny more but will earn a donation from the retailer to the team, which can be up to 5% of the purchase price. Make a donation

You can make a donation online by clicking here or send a cheque, made payable to Derby Mountain Rescue Team to PO Box 7409, Derby. DE1 0HP.

You can also donate by text message by texting the message DMRT22 £1 to 70070. You can choose amounts from £1 to £10 and the money will be taken from your Pay-As-You-Go balance or added to your montlhy contract bill, depending upon the type of phone contract you have.

Participate

Take part in one of our organised fundraising events. Look to the Events  page for details of forthcoming fundraising activities.

Become a member of the Derby Mountain Rescue Team Supporters Group

The Supporters group consists of people who want to help and support the team, but without being fully operational team members. They help out the team in a variety of ways, including orgnainsing and assisting with fundraising events, acting as exercise "casualties" for team training, joining social ativites, etc. Click here for more information about the group and how to join it.

Hold Your Own Fundraising or Sponsored Event

If you want to organise your own activity to raise money for the team, we we be only too happy to discuss this with you and provide whatever support we can. For sponsored events, you can even arrange the collection of sponsorship money online using Just Giving.  Click here to find out more details.

Remember us in your will

Leave a legacy to the team in your will. You don't need to re-write your will, you can fill in a codicil form as an additional instruction to your current will. You can download the form here - DMRT Codicil Form.

Join the team

You can become an operational member of the team. If you are reasonably physically fit, are familiar with being on the hills and have reasonable navigation skills then contact the Team Secretary for details.
