30 Apr 2010 : National Mountain & Cave Rescue Awareness Day
The team will be taking part in the first ever national Mountain and Cave Rescue Awareness day on the May Day bank holiday (May 3rd). Team members will be holding a fund-raising and public awareness day at Dovedale as part of the national initiative.The team vehicles and equipment will be on show and members will be on hand to talk to people about what mountain rescue does and show how the equipment on display is used to save lives.
With the recent flooding and snow conditions, mountain rescue in general has been very much in the public eye and the national orgranisation which represents all teams, Mountain Rescue England & Wales (MREW) has taken this opportunity to build on the public perception and raise the profile of mountain rescue still further.
