The team were called out to search for a missing 20 year old man in the Lichfield area yesterday (21st February).
The man, who had been celebrating his forthcoming 21st birthday, had been missing since Saturday night, when he was last seen heading towards Lichfield from Kings Bromley at around 8pm. He had been heading out for drinks with friends, but when he failed to return the following day, he was reported missing by his family. As police became concerned for his safety, they initially called in the lowland Search and Rescue team, Staffordshire SAR, on Tuesday evening to search the roads and paths between Kings Bromley and Lichfield.
By early Wednesday morning, the Derby Mountain Rescue team, supported by two SARDA (search and Rescue Dogs Association) search dogs were also called to join in the operation alongside the Staffordshire SAR team, who resumed their search. The missing person was not located within the search areas covered by the teams and Staffordshire Police are continuing their enquiries.
