Denstone College Donation

Members of the Team have been presented with a cheque for £700 by pupils of Denstone College. The donation was part of the College’s community giving project, with the Team being nominated by pupil Guy Watts, himself a keen walker and mountaineer.

The donation marks a longstanding relationship between the Team and the School, the cheque was presented by the College’s Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award Group, who will be venturing into wild terrain for their “expedition” later this year. Although the group hope not to need the services of Mountain Rescue they were reassured to know that Mountain Rescue teams across the UK are there should they get into difficulties.

It costs around £25-30k each year to keep Derby Mountain Rescue Team operational. Thanks to the pupils of Denstone College from everyone at Derby MRT.
