As heavy snow fell in the region, a team Land Rover and crew were called to Wirskworth to transport a patient from his home to hospital.
The man had undergone a surgical procedure the previous day and a problem had occurred requiring a visit to the relevant outpatient clinic. However, due to the snowy conditions, he was unable to make his own way there and called for an ambulance. When a road ambulance was unable to reach his home, the team were called to assist.
On arrival at scene, it was discovered that the road ambulance had finally managed to reach the casualty and conditions had improved such that the man and his wife were able to use their own vehicle to get to the hospital. The team Land Rover followed them in support until they joined the major trunk roads.
