Fourteen members of the team were able to make it through the snowy conditions to get to the cottage where the woman was stranded. They then used their stretcher to carry the woman from her bed to the team's Land Rover and she was then driven to Cromford station where she was handed over to the road ambulance for onward transport to hospital.
