Markeaton Park, Derby

The team were called by police to Markeaton Park, near Derby city, to search for a missing 76yo man. The man, who lived near the popular park, had not been seen since last Wednesday and police had become concerned for his safety. The man was not located within the area searched and police are continuing their investigations

Whilst it was unusual to see mountain rescue personnel deployed so close to a major city centre, the team's skills in searching upland and rural terrain were ideal for searching such a large area of parkland.
