The team were called to join their colleagues from Edale Mountain Rescue on Friday morning to search for a vulnerable 72 year man, missing from the Dronfield area.
The man had been reported missing by his wife during the night and Edale MRT had initially been called at around 3:30am to carry out a search of the surrounding area. At 6:00am, the Derby team were also called in to extend the search, along with five mountain rescue search dogs.
The man was eventually discovered in woodland by a search dog at around 9:00am. He was alive, but suffering from unnamed injuries. He was treated on scene by mountain rescue paramedics and evacuated to the road side, where he was handed over to a county ambulance to be taken to hospital for further treament

The Woodhead Mountain Rescue Team were also called to the incident, but were stood down en route when the missing man was located.
This was the second successful search in 3 days, with the team having found a missing 42 year old man at Carsington Water on Tuesday, after being called in by Derbyshire Police.
