Just as team members were settling down to their boxing day lunches we were called out to Thorpe Cloud after a Fifty-four-year-old male had slipped while walking and, as she had gone to call for help, his wife also slipped and fell. East Midlands Ambulance Service and a Wetton and Alstonefield Community First Responders - WACFR were also in attendance. It is thought the male sustained a fractured Tibia and Fibula whilst his wife had injured her ankle. Both were assessed on scene and carried to a Land Ambulance which met them at the road in Thorpe and transported them both to the Royal Derby Hospital for further treatment. As one of our team members returned home, he found a Christmas Card and biscuits on his doorstep, he has promised to bring them to our next meeting!
