The busy period for the team looks set to continue as we have our 6th callout of 2018. The team were called just after 2pm on Sunday 4th February to assist East Midlands Ambulance Service after a 65 year old lady had collapsed at the Trig Point on Barrel Edge near Black Rocks, injuring her right shoulder. Due to the remote location and difficult terrain the team were called to help transport the lady to the road head and land ambulance. The lady was given pain relief, placed in a team "casualty bag" (A fleece lined sleeping bag) for warmth and carried out on our Stretcher. She was taken to Chesterfield Royal Hospital by the EMAS ambulance crew for further treatment.

  • The lady in question is my wife, she sustained a broken collar bone, which is still immensely painful. Despite the fact that the location is very popular, with many passing walkers, access by vehicle is impossible. The DMR team were magnificent. I did not hear a single grumble about interrupted Sunday lunch! It was a privilege and humbling to see them in action and we are immensely grateful.

  • What amazing and fantastic work your team does. Thankyou for helping my Mum and getting her to the Ambulance so she could get to Hospital and get the treatment she required. My Dad was there with my Mum and was so impressed with all your professionalism so again a massive THANKYOU!
