The team were called out today just after 2pm to a fallen walker near Ilam Rock at Dovedale. The lady had been out walking with her husband when she slipped and fell injuring her ankle and was unable to walk any further. The team located the casualty and assessed her injuries. We were joined by a Community First Responder and a West Midlands Ambulance Crew. The lady was given pain relief, her leg was splinted and she was carried on our mountain rescue stretcher down the steep slope, across the river and along the river path to Milldale. She was taken to the Royal Derby Hospital for further treatment.
A big thank you to the farmer (and the cows!) who allows us access to their land enabling us to get the team closer to the casualty.
